Planning your Visit

We know that sometimes it helps to know what to expect!  If you have any questions about service, please feel free to ask!  We want you to feel as comfortable as possible at Open Door!

What Should I Expect?

  • When you arrive at Open Door, you'll be greeted at the front door!  When they greet you, make sure to let them know it is your first visit at Open Door.  They will be happy to direct you to the various areas of the church.

  • If you arrive early, many enjoy spending time in the fellowship hall drinking coffee and enjoying each other's company.  Feel free to make yourself at home and enjoy a time of fellowship!

  • On Sundays, we will move into the sanctuary for worship at 10am and 6pm.  In the back of the chairs, you will find information cards.  We would encourage you to fill this out and return it to a greeter or pastor.  This helps us to follow up with you to make sure you had a great experience and answer any questions you may have.

  • Services begin with announcements, giving everyone a chance to be aware of upcoming activities and ways to get connected!  We then move into a time of praise and worship.

  • Families stay together for praise and worship. We encourage everyone to worship freely, as we believe this is a time to honor Christ, shifting our focus from ourselves to Him. This is an opportunity to move into His presence and embrace who He is as our Lord and Savior!

  • Following worship, we move into the message.  Children are dismissed to go to class.  There is a nursery available (ages 0-2), as well as a toddler class (ages 3-preK) and kid's church (grades K-5)!  We would love to help you get your child to the appropriate class for them.  However, if your child prefers to stay with you, that is fine too!

  • During service, Pastor Jasyn Smith or Pastor Don Talent will bring a message to help relate the Word to your life.  We encourage you to bring your Bible if you have one, however, we also project scriptures so you can easily follow along.  The message is brought in love with a desire to help you move closer to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

  • At the end of the message, Pastor will extend an invitation to come to forward for prayer.  You don't have to come forward to talk to God, but we would love the opportunity to come together in agreement for whatever your need may be.  Our desire is to ensure everyone has a chance to receive whatever they need before they leave the service, whether it be salvation, healing, restoration, direction, or something personal God is dealing with you about. When you come forward for prayer, it is private but allows the pastors and elders to continue to uplift you throughout the week.

  • Following service, parents can pick up their children from their classes & then find Pastor at the door.  Don't forget to leave your visitor card with a greeter, pastor, or at the sound booth!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

We would love to make your visit as comfortable and welcoming as possible!
